Terms & Conditions

Plain terms for a free tool. The two that actually matter are in the middle: there is no warranty on the G-code, and checking it before you print is your responsibility, not ours.

Agreement to these terms

These terms govern your use of STL to G-code Converter, the free STL to G-code converter at https://stltogcodeconverter.com (the "site"), operated by Astha Singh. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, close the tab — there is nothing to uninstall, and no account to close.

The service

The site converts 3D models in the STL format into G-code for 3D printers. It runs entirely in your browser, and it is provided free of charge. It is offered as-is and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, with or without notice.

We may do this because running the converter in your browser is also what lets it stay free — there is no bill to pass on. If the site disappears, you will not have paid anything or committed anything.

Your files and your output

Your models stay yours. The site has no access to the files you open, as set out in the privacy policy. You keep every right in the models you load, and you are responsible for having the right to use them.

The G-code is yours too. Once it is generated, it is yours to print, modify, sell or give away. We claim no licence over it, and we take no interest in what you make with it.

We keep none of it. Because nothing is stored, we cannot return your G-code to you later, recover a lost file, or help you find a print you did two weeks ago. Download anything you want to keep.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We are explicit about three specific things:

  • The output is not certified. The G-code is generated by software, and software can be wrong. It has not been validated against your printer, your firmware, or your filament.
  • The estimates are estimates. Filament length, print time and flow figures are computed from the toolpaths in the file, not measured from a real print. Actual time depends on your machine's acceleration and actual filament use on how well the part adheres to the bed.
  • Third-party files are not ours. If you convert an STL you downloaded from somewhere, the correctness and the safety of that model are the downloader's problem and yours, not ours.

Check the file before you print it. Read the G-code, or at least slice it in a tool you trust, and confirm the bed size, the nozzle diameter, the temperatures and the travel moves suit your machine. A file sliced for a 0.4 mm nozzle sent to a 0.4 mm printer is fine; the same file on a machine configured differently is not, and no amount of correctness in the converter can tell the difference — it does not know your printer.

Safety-critical parts

Do not use this site to produce parts that are load-bearing, safety-critical or life-critical, and do not rely on its output as evidence that a part is fit for any purpose. Printed parts are not certified to any standard by virtue of having been printed from a file this site produced. If a part's failure could injure somebody, have it engineered and verified by somebody qualified to do that.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site in breach of any applicable law, or to slice material you have no right to process;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or the host serving it;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the site, the host, or any system the site depends on, without our written permission;
  • scrape, resell, or republish the site as your own, or misrepresent authorship of it; or
  • use the site to store or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, or abusive towards anyone else.

We may block access, without notice, where use appears to breach this section or where the site is being used to cause harm.

Availability

We do not promise that the site will be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may withdraw it at any time. We may also change features, settings or the G-code it produces; a change to slicing defaults can change your output without anything looking broken.

Intellectual property

The site — its design, code, copy, branding and the G-code format implementation — belongs to Astha Singh and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may use the site to convert your own models; you may not copy the site itself, rebrand it, or present a modified version as ours.

Your models, and the G-code generated from them, remain yours. Third-party names, logos and formats referenced on the site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

Third-party names

The site refers to slicers, printer firmware, file formats and model libraries to explain how 3D printing works. All of them are the property of their respective owners. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them, and we make no representation about the accuracy or availability of anything they produce.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Astha Singh is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, and for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or materials, arising out of or in connection with your use of the site — including a damaged print, a ruined spool of filament, a printer damaged by a file it should not have been sent, or lost profit from a part that failed.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, and the date at the top of the page will change with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the site.

If a provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest of it continues to apply.

Questions about these terms — including any privacy request — go to[email protected]. We would rather resolve a concern by email than have you go to a regulator.
